Escape to the comforts of a log cabin off the grid. Enjoy the peaceful natural setting and gorgeous views with your family and friends.
The cabin sits on a quiet beautiful hill seven miles away from the main town of Three Rivers towards Sequoia National Park.
Solar power and natural spring water supply the four bedroom and two bath homestead.
There is easy access to scenic hikes and dips in the river and watering holes.
The drive in: The town of Three Rivers is nestled along the foothills of Sequoia National Park. Mineral King Road is carved along the side of a canyon. It is a single lane, paved road with no artificial lighting. The views are magnificent and the drive is an experience. It warrants taking the time to drive slowly and safely. If you arrive in the nighttime, you will miss the splendor of the views.

Weather: We are at about 2300 feet elevation. Three Rivers town is about 1000 feet. It is considerably cooler than in the valley in the summer, but can get to over 90 F in the day in midsummer. At night it cools off, unless there is an extreme heat wave. In the winter, there can be a light dusting of snow, but this doesn't stay, so we are open all year. Sitting outside on the deck overlooking the valley is special -- day or night!
Check-in time: Plan to arrive at 4 PM
Check-out time: 11 AM
Facilities: The cabin is suitable for large families or small groups. Children are welcome and we recommend that adults keep them under close supervision. Pets are also welcome with an additional cleaning fee.
Solar Power: The property is powered by a state of the art solar electrical system (110V outlets in rooms). We discourage small appliances that will use extra energy such as hair dryers, portable heaters, electric blankets, etc. Always be aware of conserving energy and turning off any lights or appliances when not in use.
Water: Our water is 100% sourced from a natural mountain spring. There are two indoor and one outdoor shower. We provide complimentary drinking water in the cabin. There is a water tank on the property and you will have sufficient water for all your daily needs (e.g. showers, washing dishes, etc.), but be conscientious about water conservation. California is suffering from drought.
Kitchen: There is a full compliment of kitchen utensils, a full size refrigerator with freezer, gas stove and oven, and 12 cup coffee maker. There is drinking water, dish soap, paper towels, coffee and tea, sugar, sweeteners, salt and pepper. Just bring your food and beverages. Bring ingredients to make pizzas using the pizza stone and paddle. Bring extra ice in a cooler if you will need it. Please note that there is no microwave.
BBQ: The cabin has a large propane BBQ. There are BBQ forks and spatulas.
Indoor Activities: The cabin has more than 1000 vinyl albums, hundreds of music CDs, a 5-disc CD player, and a digital input jack for mobile devices with stored music. Play cards, chess, Scrabble, Pictionary and many other board games. Bring your favorite movie DVDs to view at night on the movie projector.
Telephone and internet: There is a land line for local and emergency calls. There is no internet access or cellular phone reception. If needed, you can drive back down to Three Rivers town where there is better cellular reception and various places with Wifi.
